Münir Özkul, whose interest in theater started during his high school years, studied theater at Bakırköy Community Center. Later, he took the stage in Ses Theatre, Küçük Sahne Theatre, Istanbul City Theatre, Ankara State Theatre, Bulvar Theater and Dormen Theatre, respectively.

In 1984, he founded a group called "Traditional Ibiş Theater" with Erol Günaydın in order to keep the traditional Turkish theater alive. In 1950, he starred in the movie "The Third Selim's Eye". This movie was his first experience on the big screen.

Münir Özkul, who played in the movie "Sev Kardeşim", which was released in 1972, won the "Best Actor Award" at the Golden Orange Film Festival with his performance here.

He played the character of "Kel Mahmut" in the movie "Hababam Class", which was released in 1974. He was awarded the İsmail Dümbüllü Award in 1991. İsmail Dümbüllü watched Münir Özkul during the play "Bloody Nigar" and gave him his turban after the play was over.

In 2015, he was deemed worthy of the Presidential Culture and Art Grand Award. He died on January 5, 2018.
